What Is Interventional Psychiatry?

Most psychiatrists finish residency having never adjusted a stimulation protocol, evaluated a patient for TMS, or had to manage medications for patients undergoing interventional treatments. Fellowship positions in interventional psychiatry are scarce, geographically limited, and require a year away from practice.

Solstice Training Institute exists to close that gap. Our interventional psychiatry training starts where the field starts in clinical TMS and gives psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and technicians the protocol knowledge, safety training, and clinical judgment to deliver neuromodulation competently. Accredited, fully online, and built by clinicians who have run interventional psychiatry practices at scale.

Solstice provides focused TMS, neuromodulation, and interventional psychiatry training for clinicians.

Interventional psychiatry is the treatment of psychiatric illness with procedural and device-based interventions rather than medication alone. Commonly used interventional treatments include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, esketamine, neurofeedback, electroconvulsive therapy, and stellate ganglion blocks. It is the fastest-growing area of psychiatric practice, and the one clinicians are least likely to have been trained in.
